What do you get if you kit-out the tough-as-nails Jeep Wrangler with some extra kit and dark dragon logos? The special edition Wrangler Dragon that’s what.
Based on the four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Overland model (209kW/347Nm 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine), the Dragon limited edition is loaded with extras, only comes in black and is priced at $51,000.
Well when you have a reputation for toughness, you may as well exploit it. But despite Jeep’s major sponsorship of the St George/Illawarra Dragons in the NRL, the Dragon limited edition Wrangler isn’t available in the famous ‘Red V’ colours.
Included in the extras is a tough exterior highlighted by the ‘Dragon Bronze Satin Gloss’ colour for front grille and headlight accents and 18-inch alloy wheels (with 255/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler BSW all-terrain tyres), ‘Dark Charcoal Metallic’ Dragon logos for the bonnet, front fenders, doors, B-pillar and hard spare wheel cover and Dragon bronze bolts for the Mopar fuel filler door.
Inside it’s a similar black and Dragon bronze hue with contrast stitching for the black Nappa leather seats (laser-etched embroidery in the fronts), a leather-wrapped steering wheel with Dragon bronze spokes and door handles finished in – you guessed it – Dragon bronze. There’s even Dragon appliques on the grab handles and instrument cluster.
Jeep says the Dragon Edition Wrangler takes “a bold new styling direction for a selective, individualist buyer”.
Meek and mild types are probably not in the Dragon’s demographic.
