Jaguar has completed its 4,641kms-11 State crossing of North America in the new XF 2.2 diesel, averaging an impressive 4.49l/100kms in the four-cylinder turbo-diesel.
In fact the Jaguar XF 2.2 required just four fuel stops in the journey from New York to Los Angeles and recorded a best fuel consumption figure of just 4.21l/100kms on the day before it drove into ‘The City Of Angels’.
The British-registered, right-hand-drive Jaguar XF 2.2 diesel was driven by independent test drivers David and Alexander Madgwick and averaged 85km/h in the 4,641kms real-world journey which included the expected traffic gridlocks of New York City and Los Angeles as well as high winds and mountain ranges.
