Honey, I shrunk the F-Pace.

Jaguar Teases New E-Pace Compact SUV

“Sports car design and agility with everyday SUV practicality.” That’s what British carmaker Jaguar is promising today as they release the first teaser image of its new E-Pace SUV, a more compact high-riding wagon that will sit beneath the F-Pace SUV that’s responsible for the huge uptick in Jaguar’s success over the last year or so.

SUVs have played a huge role in turning companies around, and Jaguar is no exception. While they’ve been doing well since their takeover by TATA Motors, sales surged by 83% last year following the introduction of the F-Pace, the first SUV by the Coventry marque. The I-Pace electric crossover also showed us that the company’s EV movement will be spearheads by something high-riding too, with that car expected to go into production sometime next year (and has already been spied doing some filming in Monaco).

Jaguar’s design boss Ian Callum said, “The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to exit the sense, and we think the E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character.”

While little technical information was given with the press release, what we do know is that the E-Pace will feature “sports-car derived all-wheel drive technology,” and will be powered exclusively by the new Ingenium range of engines (in both petrol and diesel guises). The E-Pace will also purportedly set the pace in terms of connectivity and safety, undoubtedly picking and choosing features from the greater Jaguar-Land Rover parts bin.

The Jaguar E-Pace will be unveiled to the world on the 13th of July, so stay tuned to CarShowroom as we bring you more information as the veil is lifted.
