Mazda and Alfa Romeo have officially signed the agreement to jointly produce the next Mazda MX-5 and a new Alfa Romeo roadster.
The all-new open-top two-seater will be produced at Mazda’s plant in Hiroshima, Japan.
Both will be based on the rear-wheel-drive platform being developed for the all-new MX-5 although fortunately both cars will be uniquely styled in a manner appropriate for each brand (we can hear Alfa enthusiasts all around the world breathing a sigh of relief!).
And both will have their own unique powerplants.
Production will start in 2015.
