Infiniti, the premium brand of Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. will shift its global head office to Hong Kong in April next year.
In a move signifying the importance of the Chinese market, Infiniti will be housed within the new Nissan Global Company Limited (NGL) offices.
As part of Nissan’s six-year business plan, Infiniti is looking to lift global sales beyond 500,000 vehicles and much of this growth will come from China and other Asian markets.
“As Infiniti grows its presence in the global luxury markets of North America, Europe, China and South-East Asia, we selected Hong Kong as the optimum location for our new global Infiniti headquarters, explained Nissan vice-president Andy Palmer. “We see an opportunity to reinforce Asian hospitality within the Infiniti brand, distinct from both Nissan and our facing luxury competitors. We are proud to be the only automaker that will call Hong Kong home.
