Clearly ramping-up Infiniti’s F1 involvement, the high-performance sedan is based on the Q50 (standard model launched in Australia in a few weeks) and is named after the famous high-speed Eau Rouge corner at the Spa circuit in Belgium.

The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge features complex carbon composite bodywork as well as  aerodynamic design and technical collaboration from the Red Bull F1 team.

In fact, only the roof and door outer skins are shared with the standard Infiniti Q50.

There’s a massive carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre rear diffuser, carbon fibre rear spoiler, carbon fibre side skirts, carbon fibre roof and carbon fibre exterior mirror caps. Wheels are special lightweight 21-inch alloys.

“The design has a number of distinctive Formula One inspired touches. In particular, the sculptured front wing assembly and the rear aerodynamic package take their cues from the (Red Bull) RB9 race car,” explained Infiniti design boss Alfonso Albaisa.
