Infiniti has confirmed a New York International Auto Show debut for its hybrid-power QX60 luxury seven-seater (the QX60 is a re-name of the previous JX35).
The newcomer goes on-sale in North America in a few months with a price differential over the conventional QX60 of $US3,000.
Power comes from a supercharged 2.5-litre, four-cylinder engine mated with a 15kW electric motor and driving through a CVT transmission. Infiniti says the 187kW hybrid version of the QX60 matches the 3.5-litre V6 version for performance – but return considerably better fuel consumption.
And mounting the Li-ion battery under the third seating row means the hybrid QX60 suffers no reduction in luggage capacity.
