Improved Economy for BMW Z4

BMW's EfficientDynamics program now covers 40 models with the wonderful Z4 sports car the latest to receive the improved fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions which are the cornerstone of those engineering efforts.

Brake Energy Regeneration has been introduced across the Z4 range, providing fuel economy gains up to 7.8 per cent without reducing engine performance. The system generates electric power and by activating the alternator only during trailing throttle or braking, engine load is reduced.

In addition the Z4 sDrive23i has been fitted with low rolling resistance tyres.

The new tyres, combined with Brake Energy Regeneration, see the Z4 sDrive23i now returning combined cycle fuel economy of 8.2l/100kms (manual).

BMW Group Australia Managing Director, Mr Stavros Yallouridis, said: 'BMW is committed to improving the efficiency of all of its cars, not just a few less powerful small cars. There's no reason why sports car drivers can't meet their sporting and lifestyle needs whilst emitting fewer emissions and using less fuel.'
