Unfortunately, you don’t get Jarvis.
Korean marque Hyundai has confirmed that its funky little crossover, the Kona, will be receiving a very special edition very soon, expected to land before the first quarter is up. The Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition will be here in the very near future, packing most of the tech from the top-spec Highlander, albeit dressed-up with choice bits & pieces of Iron Man goodies.
For starters, the exterior gets finished in a matte-grey hue, offset by red exterior accents & red roof. You also get bespoke bumpers on either end, 18-inch alloy wheels, and ‘Iron Man’ logos everywhere (including on the centre-caps of the alloys, which this writer thinks is a cute touch). The daytime running lights also feature a unique design, incorporating an LED light guide that’s said to be inspired by the eyes on the Iron Man suit.
Step inside and you get paint-black trim, contrast metallic red inserts, stitching, and piping. You also get red seatbelts, “premium” door trim, Tony Stark’s signature on the dashboard, a unique welcome animation on the heads-up display, and a multimedia infotainment interface that’s been given an ‘Iron Man’ skin, which looks pretty cool.
As said earlier, the Iron Man edition is likely to be based on the Kona Highlander, so you’ll get a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol under the bonnet (130kW/265Nm) mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch auto, with power sent to all-four wheels. You also get Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of advanced driver assist features like AEB, BLIS, RCTA, LKA, auto high-beam, and driver-drowsiness monitoring. You also get full-LEDs front and rear, leather upholstery, 10-way electrically-adjustable drivers seat, privacy glass, climate control, and others.
Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but you can stay tuned to CarShowroom as we bring you more updates as they come.
