Haval brings out their all-new H7 SUV, cramming in more safety and tech features than any products of theirs to date.
At the 2016 Beijing Auto Show, Haval unveiled their newest and most technologically advanced SUV, the H7. They’ve got much wider reaching plans for their new showcase vehicle, with it intended to help the brand capture more of the Australian market.
The H7 is due to make its Aussie arrival in the second half of 2017, Haval specified, but did not detail which month to expect its local release. Yet. Since the SUV is planned to reach showrooms in China next April, there should be a pretty clear idea about what to expect.
“We’re very proud of this vehicle,” said Pierre Leclerq, Haval Design Vice President. “It continues the evolution of the HAVAL brand and is another step up for us. We worked very closely with leading partners to deliver a lot of new technology that customers in Australia. I’m very excited to see the final production version.”
As was detailed prior to its official unveil, the H7 is built on an all-new platform and
is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine outputting 170kW and 355Nm, sending drive through a Getrag-sourced six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Great Wall Motors is also taking the opportunity to debut some of its newest technological and safety features. Inside, the analogue instrument cluster is replaced with a TFT panel ala Audi’s virtual cockpit while a 12-inch infotainment screen mounted at the top of the centre console.
There’s also a host of new safety features making their premiere on the H7, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning.
When it does reach Australian buyers, the H7 will sit in between the larger H8 and the smaller H6 (which is to be introduced later in 2016).
