Haval – China’s leading SUV brand has arrived in Australia.
There are three models in the compact, mid and large size SUV segments.
Haval H2 is the compact entry-level model powered by a 110kW/210Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine driving through either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic.
The front-end features all-LED headlights and DRLs while inside the choice includes a two-tone colour scheme.
No shortage of standard features either with the list including six airbags, stability control, active headrests, a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, reversing camera and Bluetooth audio with an eight-inch touchscreen.
Next-up is the Haval H8 with a 160kW/324Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, a six-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive with a Borg Warner transfer case.
Externally you’ll notice Xenon headlights, alloy wheels and a sunroof.
Inside are leather-trimmed seats (the leather sourced from Australia), satellite navigation, reversing camera and three-zone air-conditioning.
An Haval H8 ‘LUX’ model adds heated, ventilated seats with a massage function, adaptive headlights and an electronic tailgate.
The range-topping seven-seat Haval H9 shares its driveline with the H8 but adds a dual-range transfer case for more substantial off-road agility.
A cargo capacity of 1457-litres is good news for family buyers.
At this stage Haval has launched with four dealerships – Berwick and Geelong in Victoria, Lansvale in Sydney and Perth, WA.
