Hyundai’s excellent eight-seat iMax people mover and iLoad commercial van are now more economical thanks to new powertrains.
Combining the enhanced 2.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine to a new six-speed manual transmission – developed and manufactured in-house by Hyundai - sees fuel consumption improved by six per-cent to 8.0l/100kms (iLoad) or five-per cent to 8.1l/100kms (iMax).
For the five-speed automatic transmission you can chalk-up improvements of eight per-cent - 8.8l/100kms for the Hyundai iLoad and 9.0l/100kms for the iMax.
When driving through the six-speed manual transmission, the 100kW 2.5-litre turbo-diesel is fitted with a ‘waste gate turbocharger’ which sees peak torque delivered earlier (from 1500rpm to 2500rpm) for enhanced driveability, particularly around town.
Versions with the five-speed manual transmission adopt a variable geometry turbocharger and have more power and torque (125kW/441Nm).

2.4-litre petrol automatic $37,290
