2019 Ford Edge ST – North America

Ford has cheekily released a rather long teaser video of its upcoming Endura ST-Line, a hotter variant of its Territory-replacing model that promises to inject a little vim and vigour into an otherwise sedate & predictable family car. While specific details have yet to be released, the company’s video upload shows us quite a bit.

For starters we now know what the extra-aggro on the Endura ST-Line will look like. There’s reprofiled bumpers on either end, with the fascia incorporating a trick front diffuser and the rear with a couple of polished tailpipes (which are hopefully functional). Twin tailpipes will be needed, as under the bonnet there’ll be a new 2.0-litre biturbo diesel mill with 175kW of power, more than a Ford Ranger Raptor.

Inside, expect the Endura ST-Line to pack some sporty leather seats with red contrast stitching, with that needlework continuing onto the door cards and other bits of leather-wrapped trim. There will also be digital displays as well as a slightly-revised Sport mode, though 7-seats will remain off the cards for the hot Endura.

The standard Ford Endura will land with the same turbodiesel engine, but with a more pedestrian 140kW/400Nm output. Ford has already launched a page for potential buyers to express their interest in the new Endura, though the model itself isn’t expected to land until December.
