Ford’s excellent German-sourced Mondeo range scores a facelift in the form of the 2011 MC lineup due locally in November.
Sadly the sporty XR5 Turbo model is not part of the lineup – a victim of upcoming European emissions regulations.
The other powerplants remain unchanged – the 118kW/208Nm 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol and 120kW/340Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel (now Euro V-compliant).
Visually, the new Mondeo range scores a freshened front-end and new tail-lights. Zetec and Titanium models gain new-design alloy wheels.
Inside, all models feature new trim features and range-topping Titanium models add extra safety features like lane departure and blind spot warning systems as well as day-time running lights.
Currently priced from $30,540, the Mondeo is a standout mid-sizer (a favourite with the Car Showroom team). If the Australian dollar continues its strong run, we anticipate prices for the new MC range will remain unchanged or perhaps even decrease when Ford Australia confirms details closer to launch.
