Ford Launches All-New Transit

Ford’s all-mew Transit van range has received glowing reports in Europe and it has now arrived in Australia priced from $47,680.

Power comes from Ford’s handy 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi engine - which is Euro 5 compliant ad runs fuel-saving auto start/stop – delivering 114kW at 3500rpm and peak torque of 385Nm from 1600-2300rpm.
 
Drive is via a six-speed manual transmission.
 
The new Transit rides on an all-new Ford global platform promising much better ride/handling than its predecessor and the expected impressive load-carrying ability.
 
Inside the all-new Ford Transit is a revolution with a stylish new instrument panel, extra shoulder and head room and a much better driving position thanks to rake and reach adjustment for the steering wheel.

There’s a full width overhead shelf for storage of paperwork and a large hidden compartment for valuable under the dual passenger seat plus cruise control (with adjustable speed limiter), Digital radio, power front windows and front overhead lighting.
 
The safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, seat side airbags and side curtain airbags plus traction and stability control , load adaptive control and trailer sway control.
 
Transit also comes with the Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance system when pared to the driver’s mobile phone.
 
Combined with the lighter Transit Custom, arrival of the Transit now provides Ford with great vehicles in both the 1-tonne and 2-tonne van market segments.
