Ford’s all-new Transit Custom has arrived in Australia riding on the back of an historic model name which dates back to 1965.
Ford Australia will launch the all-new Transit Custom in two models – 290S at $37,490 and 330L for $39,490.
And to underscore Ford’s understanding of the commercial van market, the all-new Ford Transit Custom is being launched with a 5 year/200,000kms factory warranty (2 years/100,000kms more than the standard Ford warranty).
Both the short wheelbase 290S and long wheelbase 330L are powered by Ford’s proven 2.2-litre Duratorq turbo-diesel engine. With 92kW/350Nm on-tap the 2.2 TDCi can still deliver fuel consumption as low as 7.1l/100kms.
The Ford Transit Custom 290S has a maximum load space of 5.95m3 while the 330L affords 6.83m3. Maximum load length for the 290S is 2555mm and for the 330L it’s 2922mm.
Among Ford Transit Custom’s driver assistance systems sure to be appreciated by commercial operators are Hill Launch Assist and Cruise Control with an Adjustable Speed Limiting Device.
And both employers and drivers will be pleased with the safety inclusions which include side thorax and curtain airbags for both occupants as well as front airbags.
Best of all, the all-new Ford Transit Custom is far and away the best-looking Custom van…well, since 1965 actually.
