Ford has started rolling-out its facelifted 2011 MC model Mondeo range with a freshened look, extra features and largely unchanged prices.

Updated versions of the excellent German-sourced Ford start at $30,990 for the LX sedan.

However the sporty XR5 turbo model has been deleted as that engine has ceased production. So the sole petrol engine is the existing 118kW/208Nm 2.3-litre four-cylinder.

The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turb-disel engine has gained extra performance – now up to 120kW/340Nm – and improved fuel consumption (as low as 5.9l/100kms).

Exterior changes are limited to new bumpers and lights, while inside the 2011 Mondeo range features lumbar support for the front passenger seat, a new headliner material and new trim features.

Entry-level LX models score power windows, electric height ajustment for the drivers’ seat and a new-design 16-inch wheel.

Mid-speed Mondeo Zetec gains an updated version of Ford’s Human Machine Interface (HMI) and new 17-inch alloy wheels.

Range-topping Titanium models boast substantial extra equipment incuding LED daytime running lights, the Blind Sport Information System, the updated HMI system, new 18-inch alloy wheels, a sports body kit and exterior/interior trim enhancements.

Diesel-powered Mondeo Titanium models go even further with the Lane Departure Warning System, and a speed limiter.
