Now here’s an all-new vehicle you’d reckon Ford Australia would be keen to get on-sale locally – the Ford Tourneo eight-seat people mover.
Although labeled a concept vehicle, the Tourneo shown by Ford in Geneva appeared production-ready and if priced right the good-looking eight-seater would provide Ford Australia with an ideal vehicle to steal sales from vehicles like Kia’s rand Carnivale and Hyundai’s iMax.
Featuring Ford’s latest ‘Kinetic Design Language’ the Torneo is claimed to deliver car-like driving dynamics and best-in-class fuel consumption from an enhanced 2.2-litre Duratorq turbo-diesel engine.
Inside the spacious eight-seater provides lots of space and variable seating configurations. The rear seat is easily removed for extra cargo capacity.
There’s lots of technology including Driver Alert and Lane Departure Warning.
Ford says the Tourneo previews its all-range of commercial vehicles due for European introduction from later this year.
