Upgraded models of the Lexus RX SUV are now on-sale.
While there are some changes to interior trim, the big news is enhanced safety with The Lexus Advanced Pre-Collision Safety system (PCS) on Lexus RX350 sport and Sport Luxury models plus the various 450h derivatives.
All RX models receive a 12-volt power outlet in the center console and an updated audio and navigation system with full USB connectivity which allows iPod content to be selected via the in-built navigation screen mounted in the dashboard.
The PCS system uses radar to monitor the road ahead and if a collision is unavoidable, automatically applies the brakes.
Before then, the driver gets an audible warning, the seatbelts are pre-tensioned and the brakes are primed.
