Lexus Australia has secured three more LFA sports cars, bringing to eight the number of its ground-breaking supercars heading this way.

The first LFA to arrive in April next year will feature blue flame exterior paint with black wheels and blue brake calipers. Inside will be black leather with contrasting blue stitching.

Lexus says the half-million dollar price tag for the 412kW, V10-powered supercar did not dampen demand – in fact the company reckons 20 local buyers were scrambling for the initial allocation of five vehicles.

Production of the hand-built LFA – which accelerates from zero to 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds – starts in December.

“Lexus Australia’s initial LFA allocation was five vehicles, but we were caught well short of market demand – we’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the LFA,” revealed Lexus Australia Chief Executive Tony Cramb. “Well before we confirmed five LFAs for Australia we had more than enough solid enquires to quadruple that allocation.”
