Mitsubishi is a big player in the European market so the bi-annual Geneva Motor Show ranks alongside Tokyo in importance for the Japanese giant.
So no surprise Mitsubishi is rolling-out some big guns in Geneva next month in the form of two interesting concept vehicles.
Heading the lineup is a diesel-hybrid sport utility truck (SUT) called Grand Runner. While Mitsubishi has not released full details, the front-engine/rear-wheel-drive Grand Runner is said to employ a fuel-efficient clean diesel engine with a high-output electric motor and battery to achieve exhaust C02 emissions below 149g/km.
Underneath is the next-generation Super Select 4WD system (a development of the current Mitsubishi Pajero system) with Super All-Wheel Control.
Mitsubishi’s other Geneva star, the CA-MiEV concept is a pointer to the next generation i-MiEV compact electric hatchback. As well as the all-new looks, the Mitsubishi CA-MiEV ushers-in new electric motor and battery technology (which should boost the range between battery re-charges to 300kms) and new wireless re-charging technology.
Full details will emerge in Geneva.
