Performance specialist Cosworth (best known for its Formula 1 engines) has announced aftermarket performance packages for the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ in North America.
Whereas previously Cosworth has supplied individual components, now the aftermarket giant is retailing complete kits for the FA20 engine.
While the standard Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ engine is good for 147kW, Cosworth’s aftermarket packs can lift output in stages from 243kW right up to 283kW (the latter in competition configuration).
Changes include exhaust systems, a lighter header and calibration.
Engineering is to Cosworth’s F1 standards.
