Japanese giant Mitsubishi and French brands Peugeot and Citroean have signed a joint agreement to co-operatively develop powertrains and battery packaging technology for upcoming electric-powered vehicles.
The first application is expected to emerge in new light commercial vehicles.
The three companies already have an existing agreement for collaboration on electric vehicles which will see Mitsubishi producing European-specification versions of it’s i-MIEV electric vehicle to be sold as the Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-ZERO. Production of these vehicles will commence in October.
