In Europe, Citroen has added to its C4 range with the launch of a compact SUV version called C4 Aircross. Inspired by Citroen’s Hypnoc concept car and availabe in two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, the Citroen C4 Aircross will on-sale for European customers from early next year.

Styling is, for Citroen, quite athletic with lots of sculptured lines giving a purposeful look and combining nicely with wide wheel arches (for the 18-inch alloy wheels) and reduced front/rear overhangs. LED DRLs are integrated into vertical grille vents.

The five-seat Citroen C4 Aircross delivers a handy 442-litre boot capacity and measures 4.3-metres in length, 1.80-metres in width and stands 1.63-metres high. A reasonably compact 10.6-metre turning circle means this genuine SUV won’t be too challenged by the laneways of Paris.

Citroen will launch the C4 Aircross with a choice of two petrol engines (85kW/152Nm, 1.50litre or 113kW/198Nm, 2.0-litre) and two diesels (82kW/270Nm or 110kW/300Nm). Drive is via five-speed/six-speed manuals or a CVT automatic.
