Chevrolet Teases All-New Silverado HD For 2020

We’re just months out from being treated to an all-new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show, but it seems that the American automaker is already putting the finishing touches on an equally all-new generation of its larger ‘Heavy Duty’ truck, specifically the 3500HD.

The company promises to stage a full unveil within 18 months, with proaction to start in the third quarter of 2019, which means that there will be a brand new and full range of GMC Sierras rolling around before too long as well. Called the Silverado HD and seen here in this sole teaser image wearing a Z71 exterior styling pack.

Once it receives a full launch, the 2020 model will be sold alongside the just-revealed Silverado 1500. Presumably, Chevrolet will get to work immediately to updating the rest of the range over that wide size selection per the all-new generation’s standards.

“Chevrolet already fuels the most successful truck manufacturer in the industry,” said Alan Batey, global head of Chevrolet. “With a completely new, expanded range of Silverado models on the horizon, we expect to see even more truck buyers in Chevrolet showrooms.”

While the all-new model will feature substantial under-the-skin improvements, we expect there to be little in terms of variance pertaining to the Silverado’s running gear. Expect the same array of engines and transmissions, including a healthy selection of petrol and diesel V8s.
