BMW’s Australian dealers are now taking orders for the new 228i Coupe.
Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine and priced from $64,400, first shipment of the latest edition to the BMW 2 Series range will hit Australian shores in September.
The 228i slots beneath the M235i in the BMW 2 Series range.
Of course the 2.0-litre TwinPower turbo four petrol engine is familiar – also used in the 328i and 428i – with 180kW/350Nm on-tap, the BMW 228i covers zero to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and delivers combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.3l/100kms.
Specifications mirror the 220i and 220d models so listed as standard are items like Navigation System Business (6.5-inhc colour screen), sports seats, six-speaker audio and park distance control.
However the BMW 228i goes further with 18-inch alloy wheels, Dakota leather inside and Bi-Xenon headlights.
And as usual, the BMW Lines ‘Sport’ or ‘Modern’ are standard.
The full lineup looks like this:
220i Coupe $50,500
220d Coupe $52,500
228i Coupe $64,400
M235i Coupe $80,400
