For the second consecutive year the Audi R8 has been named World Performance Car at the New York International Auto Show’s World Car of the Year Awards ceremony.
In 2008 the V8-powered R8 got the gong, but this year it was the gob-smacking V10 version that collected the NYC accolade.
With 386kW driving all four wheels, the 5.2-litre V10 propels the latest R8 from zero to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and provides a top speed of 316 km/h.
Featuring a lightweight aluminium body and innovative all-LED lighting, the R8 is really the ultimate in current high performance automotive technology.
In some ways, this is a trifecta for Audi as its RS4 model was the 2007 World Performance Car winner.
