Audi has confirmed the ultimate Audi – the V10-powered Audi R8 GT – will headline its display at the Australian International Motor Show (Melbourne).
The limited production, race-bred version of the R8 boasts even more under-bonnet action with the direct-injection 5.2-litre V10 engine delivering 412kW/540Nm. Use of carbon fibre composite materials pare some 100kgs from the weight of the GT version of Audi’s twos-eat sports car.
Zero to 100km/h takes just 3.6 seconds, zero to 200km/h ticks by in 10.8 seconds and the Audi R8 GT has a top speed of 320km/h. Audi’s brilliant engineering means this mid-engine, high-performance supercar also returns combined cycle fuel consumption of just 13.9l/100kms.
Only 333 Audi R8 GTs are scheduled for production and it’s already sold out with just five headed to lucky Australian buyers.
The Australian International Motor runs 1 –10 July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
