Under the bonnet, the Euro 5-compliant 2.5-litre common-rail diesel engine now runs twin turbochargers, lifting output to 119kW and torque to 400Nm from 1400rpm. Drive is via six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmissions and the four-wheel-drive system has been improved to facilitate ‘shift on the fly’ swaps from two-wheel-drive to four-wheel-drive at speeds up to 80km/h.

In the UK, payload capacity for the all-new Isuzu D-MAX is rated at 1000kgs and the towing capacity is three tones.

British customers can choose from four levels of specification and three body types.

As well as single and double cabs, the all-new Isuzu D-MAX comes in an extended cab derivative with rear-opening side access panels.
