‘Active Turn Tilting’ (the car leans into a corner like a motorcycle) and ‘Magic Body Control’ (“suspension with eyes”) are just two headline items in the technological tour-de-force which is the breathtaking all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
And if the technology in the replacement for the current CL Coupe is astonishing – how good does the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe look? Wow!
Active Turn Tilting is part of the Magic Body Control suspension system and in cornering instantly counter-tilts against G-forces forces (like a motorcycle) up to 2.5-degrees – keeping the S-Class Coupe’s occupants comfortable despite its prodigious performance.
It’s all initiated thanks to a two-camera system which monitors the road up to 15-metres in front and sends messages to hydraulic cylinders in each suspension strut which operate individually.
Power comes from an up-rated version of Benz’ twin-turbocharged 4.6-litre V8 now delivering 335kW/700Nm.
