OK there’s a sea crossing from Japan to Vladivostok, but eight all-new Mazda3 hatchbacks will depart August and drive to Germany.
Mazda is leaving no stone unturned to attract publicity for the all-new Mazda3 and the eight vehicles will leave the company’s head-office in Hiroshima and complete the 15,000kms journey in time to arrive in Frankfurt, Germany for the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show on 7 September.
Traversing Russia, Belarus and Poland, the trip crosses nine time zones.
All vehicles will employ Mazda’s 114kW SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine and a six-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission.
In fact this trip repeats previous outings for Mazda which include the Mazda3’s predecessor, the Mazda 323, in 1977 and the Mazda 626 in 1990.
