Infiniti is set to take-on Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1-Series with its new Q30 to debut as a concept at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, Infiniti’s Director of Performance has been involved with the evolution of the Q30 from early days.
Like the larger Q50 unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January, the Q30 will show lineage to earlier Infiniti concepts – Essence, Ethera and Emerg-e.
We’re told to expect a muscular look which is slender and sleek.
“This Infiniti Q30 Concept is a prelude to the product portfolio expansion which underpins our aggressive global growth strategy,” revealed Infiniti’s global chief Johan de Nysschen. “In our quest to appeal to the modern, young-minded premium customer, the Infiniti Q30 Concept has a distinctive style and reaches new levels of product quality.”
We would not be surprised if a hybrid model was included in the lineup when the Infiniti Q30 debuts in production form.
In the real world, Infiniti’s Australian dealers would be hoping for a starting price under $40,000.
