Alfa Romeo’s Geneva Motor Show star, the all-new Giulietta, is slated for local launch before the end of this year.

The rebirth of a classic Alfa Romeo name and celebrating the company’s centenary, the newcomer is a stylish compact with Alfa’s trademark design excellence and attention to detail.

European models are powered by a choice of four turbocharged engines (two 1.4-litre petrols, plus 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre diesels). The most powerful, range-topping Quadrifoglio Verde model is powered by the naturally aspirated 1750 TBi engine.

Drive is via a six-speed manual or six-speed twin clutch automatic.

Giulietta rides on an all-new platform and provides a surprisingly large 380 litre luggage capacity (the Europeans are very smart when its comes to compact car design). Alfa DNA (the driver select management system with ‘Dynamic’, ‘Normal’ and ‘All Weather’ settings) is standard.

Styling is typically Alfa Romeo – cutting edge Italian – with coupe-like lines for the 4.35 metre long new addition. Depending on the model, wheel sizes are 16-inch, 17-inch or 18-inch.

In Europe, the Giulietta will be sold in two models (‘Progression’ and ‘Distinctive’) with two option packs (‘Sport’ and ‘Premium’).

Look for local details and pricing later this year.
