Alfa Romeo blew-out it’s 105th birthday cake candles in style with the launch of the all-new Giulia which is due in Australia next year.
Alfa Romeo enthusiasts will immediately pick a substantial newcomer in the Giulia’s knockout styling – a mild ‘do-over’ of the classic Alfa Romeo logo which is mounted prominently in the Giulia’s racy front-end.
Highlighting the Alfa Romeo Giulia’s petrol and diesel engines is an all-new aluminium turbocharged six-cylinder unit delivering 380kW for the range-topping ‘Quadrifoglio’ version.
Drive is either all-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive – the latter powering the six-cylinder model from zero to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Underneath is Alfa’s all-new chassis which delivers 50:50 weight distribution and uses a multi-link rear end and an exclusive front-end which is a double wishbone layout.
Lots of Alfa Romeo ‘firsts’ in the Giulia including weight-saving aluminium for the rear cross-member, bonnet and boot and a an ‘active’ front splitter for enhanced aerodynamics.
As well, there are carbon-ceramic brakes and carbon-fibre is used in the seat frames.
