Fiat-Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has laid-out a massive five-year plan for all brands within the group and today reports in Europe and North America claim the overhaul for Alfa Romeo and Maserati will seem them enjoy some differentiation similar to that which currently exists for Ferrari.
Alfa Romeo will launch eight new products by 2018 and one them – the already leaked Alfa Romeo 6C sports car - will share the chassis and twin-turbo V6 engine with the upcoming Maserati Alfieri sports car (basically the same engine we already know from Maserati’s Ghibli and Quattroporte).
So that means the Alfa Romeo 6C will be rear-wheel-drive (in fact all future Alfa Romeo models will be rear-drive or all-wheel-drive).
There could also be a four-door version of the Alfa Romeo 6C (the Maserati Ghibli is almost a four-door sedan version of the Quattroporte).
We also know there is an Alfa Romeo SUV on the way but things have gone somewhat quiet on the co-development between Alfa Romeo and Mazda which will create the new MX-5.
