2018 Mitsubishi Triton Blackline

Mitsubishi has revealed a new, limited-run variant of its Triton ute, aimed to increase the value proposition on offer by the tri-diamond pickup. The Triton Blackline, as it’s called, brings about a raft of aesthetic and equipment upgrades, and sits between the GLS and Exceed grades in the lineup, with prices starting at $43,490 for a manual example and $45,990 for an automatic version.

Based on the Triton GLS, the Blackline adds kit from the plusher Exceed variant for a small outlay, about $1,900 more than the standard GLS. However, Blackline models do get some extra kit, in the form of keyless entry and go, a rear diff-lock, a blacked-out grille, door mirrors, door handles, and sports bars, as well as some unique decals.

No mechanical changes to report though, with the engine under the bonnet still coming in the form of a 2.4-litre turbodiesel putting out 133kW and 430Nm, with a switchable all-wheel drive system with two-high, four-high, and four-low modes. Colour options for Triton Blackline models are limited to black, white, and ‘titanium,’ which we’re going to assume is silver.
