More performance, no compromise.
Tickford Engineering, no stranger to the world of uptuned Fords, has today announced the availability of two power upgrades for everyone’s favourite pony car, the Mustang.
It’s rare that you’ll find a new Mustang owner complaining about power (or lack of it), but should you be one of the rare few, there’s a Tickford pack for you. Additionally, Tickford is offering a driveline warranty to ensure that your fast(er) Mustang won’t ever leave you worried.
A cold air intake, ECU revisions, and exhaust system enhancements are what make up Tickford’s performance-related upgrades to the Mustang, while a smattering of aesthetic options are also being made available. The two performance-enhancing kits, the ‘360 Power Pack’ for the V8 and the ‘270 Power Pack’ for the EcoBoost, are now available for power-hungry Mustang owners at just $6,990 all-in.
The 5.0-litre V8 found in the Mustang GT gains 54kW and 55Nm with the Power Pack fitted, totalling 360kW and 540Nm. Tickford has been tight-lipped about century sprint times, but we expect them to be competitive, with strong torque available through the rev range. Torque is the name of the game with the EcoBoost though, as the 270 Power Pack available for the turbocharged unit brings with it a 37kW and 117Nm upgrade. This puts power at a total of 270kW and 540Nm, which may leave V8 owners feeling a little silly.
Tickford assures observers and fans that ride and handling upgrades are currently in the works, but for those who may not be interested in uprating the power of their Mustangs, there’s a $3,990 upgrade for just the exhaust upgrade (replete with carbon-fibre wrapped tips) to wake up the neighbourhood.
