FORD MUSTANG

Leaked exclusively to fanzine mustang6g.com, Ford is looking to bring new tech to its Mustang, and drop some dead weight.

Firstly, the Blue Oval will be dropping the 3.7-litre V6 (which Australia doesn’t get anyway). This is apparently following lacklustre sales, with buyers preferring the colossal 5.0 V8 or the far more reasonable 2.3-litre EcoBoost.

Ford will, however, be adding a few things here and there for the 2018 Mustang. There will be a 10-speed automatic (three of which are overdrive ratios), an adjustable MagneRide suspension system, a ‘dual exhaust’, a Carbon Sport package (this may be cosmetic only though, folks), and something called ‘GT Performance Package 2’ which will probably turn the Mustang’s performance up to eleven.

Since its introduction, the current-generation Ford Mustang has enjoyed incredible success around the world, with right-hand drive markets like ours finally able to enjoy a slice of ubiquitous Americana officially for the first time. At the time of writing, Ford Australia says that the order books are reaching into the better part of 2017 now, despite their best efforts with getting increased allocations for Australia.

Looks like the Mustang’s success won’t be tapering off any time soon.
