The extreme Volkswagen Golf R 400 has been spotted testing in Germany.
The R 400 concept was first seen at the 2014 Beijing motor show, however recent reports from overseas suggest the Volkswagen Golf R 400 should go on sale early in 2-16.
The image shows a a seventh generation Golf R with just a little more bite. Photos show low profile Michelin tyres with Speedline Corse wheels, behind which are cross-drilled brakes with big calipers.
The concept had a high-output 2.0-litre turbocharged engine generating 295kW of power and 450Nm of torque. Which is 89kW and 70Nm more than the run-of-the-mill Golf R. Once problem faced by VW is getting all that power to the road, meaning the Golf R 400 is likely to get a seven-speed DSG, rather than the six-speed found in the Golf R.
