Mitsubishi has rolled-out the updated Outlander PHEV starting from $47,490.
Headlining the improvements are a raft of driveline changes fuel consumption at 1.9l/100kms with a pure electric range of 52kms.
Mitsubishi has also overhauled the chassis and steering for improved ride and handling plus more refinement.
Styling changes mirror the regular Outlander we reviewed a couple of months back – highlighted by the new ‘corporate’ Mitsubishi ‘Dynamic Shield’ grille.
The PHEV version runs unique 18-inch alloy wheels as well as bumper extensions and trim highlights.
There are also two new exterior colours – ‘Quartz Brown’ metallic and ‘Ruby Black Pearl’ (the latter exclusive to the PHEV model).
Inside too, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV picks-up the updates we saw in the standard models – new, more supportive seats including power adjustment for the driver, better quality materials and a new dashboard and steering wheel.
Most models also score a heated steering wheel – very handy for the winter months.
New to the list of safety features are a ‘Multi-around View Monitor’ and ‘Unintentional Move Off Control (which is claimed to control speeds in forwards and reverse if the driver accidentally hits the accelerator pedal).
