British sports car specialist Lotus is replacing two of its most successful models – the Elise and Elise S – with newer lighter and better-equipped versions.
The Elise Sport and Elise Sport 220 will arrive in Australia mid next year.
Both are 10kgs lighter than the outgoing models and revive the ‘Sport’ designation – meaning lighter and more performance oriented – from the iconic Elise model.
The Elise Sport 220 delivers 162kW/250Nm and covers zero to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds.
‘Sport Mode’ is the default driving mode for both models.
Inside is Alcantara trim or you can option a classic tartan which also harks back to the superb Espirit S1 from 1976.
A range of classic Lotus Elise paint colours are available and wheels (16-inch front and 17-inch rear) are silver or black as standard or you can opt for a lighter forged wheel design.
And, as always, these latest Lotus models will be manufactured at the famous facility in Hethel, Norfolk.
Full Australian specifications and prices will be announced closer to launch.
