Lotus Australia has just announced a special limited edition Elise Cup 250 called the Bathurst Edition, and they mean limited. Only 6 units will be produced exclusively for Australia and will set you back $109,990.
Underneath, the Elise Cup 250’s chassis has been tuned further, with tweaked Bilstein dampers that have a 12 percent firmer compression rate and a 20 percent firmer rebound up front (when compared to the Elise 220). The rear axle, meanwhile, is up 9 and 30 percent respectively in terms of compression and rebound firmness.
The Toyota-sourced engine remains relatively untouched in this edition. The supercharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder churns out 181kW and 250Nm to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with an open-gate mechanism.
The Lotus Elise Cup 250 Bathurst Edition tips the scales at 931kg, which means this featherweight will sprint to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Helping to achieve that sprint time are a set of staggered Yokohama Advan A052 tyres measuring 195/50 R16 up front and 225/45 R17 out back.
Interestingly, behind those motorsport-grade lightweight alloy wheels, Lotus sourced brake callipers from both AP Racing (front) and Brembo (rear).
Other changes made to the ultra-rare Lotus include carbon fibre seats, a red interior colour pack, Bathurst Cup 250 decals, a motorsport-grade T45 stainless steel roll hoop cover and red spoiler struts.
The six new owners of the Bathurst Edition will also receive a track day session at the Mount Panorama Circuit.
"Lotus Cars Australia has built a strong enthusiast and track day community, and our Lotus-only Bathurst days are the centrepiece," said Lotus Cars Australia managing director, Lee Knappett.
