The F-Type SVR – the first Jaguar to get the treatment from Jaguar-Land Rover’s new special vehicles operation – debuts in a few weeks at the Geneva Motor Show.
But lucky Australians with $289,590 (Coupe) or $308,470 (Convertible) can place their orders from today for the fastest and most powerful series production road car Jaguar has produced.
By any measure the Jaguar F-Type SVR sound like an awesome car – the 423kW/700Nm supercharged 5.0-litre V8, eight-speed ‘Quickshift’ transmission and torque-on-demand all-wheel-drive system affording zero to 100km/h in the genuine ‘Supercar’ time of 3.7 seconds.
The SVR models are lighter than the regular F-Types and run 20-inch alloy wheels with wider Pirelli P Zero tyres, unique dampers and anti-roll bars - just the start of myriad chassis changes which will make this Jaguar a seriously good car to drive.
Aerodynamics have received the once-over too with a flat underfloor, sporty front bumper and splitter, an active rear wing in carbon-fibre and a rear venturi.
Inside are unique SVR sports seats with a ‘Lozenge Quilt’ pattern, SVR leather-wrapped steering wheel with aluminium gearshift paddles and an instrument binnacle and centre console finished in suedecloth.
On the options list are carbon fibre brakes which carve a further 21kgs from the Jaguar F-Type SVR’s unsprung weight.
File this one under ‘Y’ for ‘Yes Please’.
