Due to arrive in July the Mercedes Benz CLA Shooting Brake will only cost $1500 more than its four door coupe sibling.
Mercedes has opened the order books the new wagon from today, with a starting price from $52,400 plus on roads. The line-up and specs are very similar to the hot selling CLA Sedan.
The major difference between the coupe and wagon is the electric tailgate and aluminium boot rails which are standard across the range.
Entry to wagon is via the CLA200 which gets a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 115kW and 250Nm, it can sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.8 seconds and has a claimed fuel economy of 6.0 litres per 100km.
Next up is the CLA200 CDI powered by a 2.1-litre turbo diesel engine capable of 100kW/300Nm, it uses 4.4L/100km and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 9.9 seconds.
Moving in to the sportier models the CLA250 Sport 4Matic comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder boasting 155kW and 350Nm, the 0-100km/h is 6.8 seconds and fuel use is 6.8L/100km.
The hero model is the CLA45 AMG 4Matic that makes 265kW and 450Nm, and sprints from 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds, fuel usage is rated at 6.9L/100km.
