BMW has launched the three-model 2 Series Convertible range highlighted by the first drop-top model – the M235i Convertible.
The replacement for BMW’s hot-selling 1 Series convertible, the all-new 2 Series is a much more compelling proposition with its standout looks and underneath the track is wider and the chassis has 20 per-cent greater torsional rigidity and 10 per-cent greater bending strength – that means a much sharper driving dynamic.
The lineup starts with the 220i Convertible which is very sharply priced at $54,900.
But it’s the M235i which is the star of the show with its turbocharged six-cylinder engine, glorious 18-inch M alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, sumptuous leather-trimmed M interior (including the beautiful M steering wheel), adaptable M suspension and aero kit for the body.
The all-turbocharged engine lineup comprises a 135kW/270Nm four-cylinder for the 220i, a 180kW/350Nm four-cylinder for the 228i and of course BMW’s most powerful six-cylinder (240kW) for the M235i.
The full 2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible Australian lineup is:
| 220i Convertible | $54,900 |
| 228i Convertible | $68,900 |
| M235i Convertible | $85,800 |
