Subaru has announced improvements for its 2.0-litre diesel engines as part of 2012 upgrades for the Forester and Outback models.
The refinements to engines and the six-speed manual transmission mean Subaru diesel models for 2012 are more fuel-efficient and cleaner than their predecessors.
Combined cycle fuel consumption drops by 6.2 per cent from 6.4l/100kms to 6.0l/100kms and exhaust emissions are down from 168g/km to 158g/km.
Driveability is improved too with the 350Nm of torque now delivered lower in the range at 1600rpm.
Inside, look for a an over-revving warning and gear-shift indicator plus a new luminescent instrument cluster for Subaru Forester 2.0D Premium models.
