Nissan’s slick Maxima mid-size sedan has just been upgraded and now represents even better value with prices unchanged – starting at $33,990.
Headlining the extras is a new adaptive front lighting system (AFS) and side-view camera standard on the range-topping TI model Nissan Maxima.
AFS adjusts the low-beam lighting pattern according to vehicle speed and steering input for enhanced illumination in the twisty stuff. Nissan says unlike similar systems from other manufacturers, when stationary at a cross-street its version of AFS also uses the left-hand light according to the direction of the indicator stalk.
The image from the new side-view camera is displayed in the Nissan Maxima’s satellite navigation screen and eases the common blind spot by providing an image of the vehicle’s left side.
Nissan Maxima TI also scores an electronically controlled sunshade for the rear window – to protect the heads of rear seat passengers in sunlight.
Other models gain a new integrated Bluetooth system with steering wheel remote controls.
No changes under the bonnet with Nissan Maxima employing two V6 petrol engines – the 2.5-litre with 134kW/228Nm or the 3.5-litre with 185kW/326Nm.
The full range is:
Maxima 250STL3 $33,990
Maxima 350STS3 $37,990
Maxima 350TI3 $46,990
