Kia has updated its funky Soul hatchback for 2012.
Big news is an all-new 2.0-litre petrol engine from Kia’s NU family with 122kW/200Nm.
The new powerplant is in addition to the 1.6-litre GAMMA petrol (now with 95kW/157Nm thanks to dual continuously variable valve timing) and the 94kW/260Nm diesel.
A six-speed automatic transmission is now available for the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel versions (or a six-speed manual) while the Kia Soul 2.0-litre is exclusively a six-speed automatic.
Available in two grades (Soul and Soul+), the 2012 lineup is distinguished by a fresh new look front and rear plus new design 18-inch alloy wheels.
Entry price is unchanged at $21,490 (1.6-litre), the 2.0-litre Kia Soul+ is priced from $26,990 while the diesel is stickered from $27,990.
