French manufacturer Citroen has released the first details of the all-new C4 small car due for launch locally mid next year.

Fractionally larger than the current model, the new C4 is a good looker with distinctive European design cues, sculptured lines and flowing surfaces that add up to a much more purposeful and sporty look.

The front features modern headlights and the sharp profile, rear spoiler and nice alloy wheels deliver a sporty flavour for Citroen’s acclaimed small car.

Practicality is also a strong suit – Citroen claims the C4’s 408-litre boot is the largest in the segment.

As you would expect from a European small car, technology abounds with features such as EGS (Electronic Gearbox System), hill start assist, lane departure warning, Xenon directional headlights and a blind spot monitoring system.

A new vehicle management system called Citroen ‘eTouch’ will allow drivers to access the technical status of their C4 to monitor maintenance and service requirements.

Fuel consumption and environmental friendliness have also been ramped-up wit the latest generation diesel engines combining with Michelin Energy Saver tyres to reduce emissions to as low as 109g/km.

The new C4 will debut at the Paris Motor Show in September ahead of local launch next year. Citroen Australia is still some way from being able to confirm local pricing.
