2010 Australian International Motor Show International Diesel Race

Australian David Brabham’s 2009 Le Mans 24-hour race–winning Peugeot 908 will headline a diesel-powered race car display at the Australian International Motor Show (Sydney) 15-24 October.

The V12 engine in the Peugeot racer delivers 515kW of power and 1200Nm of torque. Brabham and co-drivers Alex Wurz and Mark Gene took the chequered flag at Le Mans after covering 5,202 kms at an average speed of 216km/h. 

2010 ISUZU D-MAX



Joining the Peugeot in the diesel motorsports category at the Sydney show will be the Isuzu D-MAX ute which Australian off-road racer Bruce Garland is taking to South America for the 2011 Dakar Rally. Under the bonnet is a modified 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine delivering 192kW/630Nm.

In 2009, Garland surprised Dakar regulars by taking a less powerful Isuzu D-MAX to 11th position outright.
